Tami Waterson email

Administrative Asst

I have been blessed to be the secretary here at Emerald Christian Academy since 2011. My family and I live in Dexter. Both of my kids have attended ECA. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and decorating cakes. It is so nice to be able to come to work every day and enjoy the people you work with. I love this school and can’t wait to welcome you to it.

Laura Douglas email

7th-9th homeroom teacher, 3rd -6th grade sciences

I am a passionate, proactive and committed teacher, who yearns to inspire and convey the love of God to all. I am actively trusting in God by venturing across the other side of the world from Australia to teach here at ECA. An unknown author wrote a verse that I have taken to heart for my teaching, “Children are born with wings, teachers help them to fly”. I can’t wait to continue my journey here at ECA and see my students “fly”.

Doug Gaylor email

3rd & 4th grade homeroom teacher, 5th-8th grade social studies, 9th & 10th grade science, yearbook

I consider the northwest my home. Born and raised in Roseburg, Oregon, I have spent my entire life in the Pacific Northwest. A product of both public and private education, I am a strong believer and a living example of Christian education. My wife and I have sent both our girls through Emerald Christian Academy and continued their education through our Adventist school system.

Tiffany Hager email

Teacher 1st & 2nd grade homeroom & afternoon Kindergarten

As an alumnus of Emerald Christian Academy I started teaching at Emerald Christian Academy in 2001. I enjoy teaching the younger grades, and currently teach kindergarten, first, and second grade. Teaching all areas of the curriculum is satisfying for me, but my favorite subject is reading. I love watching the light turn on in a child’s brain and all the pieces come together.

Sharon Miller email

Teacher’s Aid Prekindergarten & Kindergarten Morning

My husband went to school here at ECA. When it was time to put our son in school we decided to enroll him here also. Then I was blessed with the opportunity to become a teacher’s aide here. I love being able to spend the mornings with my students and seeing them learn and grow so much throughout the year.

Olga Racine email

Music Teacher

I am a native of Ukraine; I began to play the violin at 6 years of age. After earning my Diploma in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from Dniprodzherzhinsk State Music College, I taught violin and played in the Dnipropetrovsk Municipal Chamber Orchestra. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education, from Atlantic Union College, in Lancaster, Massachusetts. As a member of the New England Youth Symphonia, I have performed in a series of Mid-America Productions engagements at Carnegie Hall, in New York City. My composition for treble choir, Until There Is Light, was recorded and performed for local television broadcast in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, in 1997. At ECA I direct choir and band, hand chimes and recorders. I am passionate about introducing music to students of all ages, I believes that music is a beautiful gift of the Creator, with a power to transform the mind and feed the soul.

Marcia Solis

Teacher’s Aide

My husband and I with our two sons live in Eugene. We are a bilingual family that has recently joined the Spanish SDA church. Coming here to work as a teacher’s aide at ECA has been a blessing. I love coming to school and seeing the students great big smiles every day. It always lifts my spirits.

Brad Wechner email

Accountant

I have lived in this area for over 25 years, and have had the privilege of working for ECA since 2011. When I talk to people about ECA I often say, “I would have loved to have been a student at a school like this!” My wife Karen and I love our church family in Eugene. We enjoy leading songs of praise to God, and going for nature walks at the coast, in the mountains, or in the valley.

Della Rodman

Hot Lunch Lady

I have been the “Hot Lunch Lady” at ECA since 2010, providing vegetarian meals 5 days a week. One of the things I appreciate most about ECA is the enthusiastic caring atmosphere that many students from many different cultures provide! What an opportunity for fun and learning!

Gerardo Bermudez

West Bus Driver

I have been a truck driver for many years until I fell in love with the beauty of the Eugene/Springfield area and decided to settle down here. I feel it is a real blessing that the Lord brought me to ECA to drive the bus.

Terri Collman

East Bus Driver

The Lord has blessed me with being the East School bus driver since 2015. I am a married mother of three, and have eight grandchildren, in my spare time I enjoy reading and going to garage sales. I always look forward to the school year and meeting the new students (or precious cargo as I call them) and their families.
